چکیده
AbstractBackground The Cambodia pertussis immunization schedule includes three doses given at age 6, 10 and 14 weeks using a whole-pertussis vaccine. No booster are included. Pertussis biological diagnosis is unavailable in its burden remains unclear. This study aimed to provide accurate data on serological status of Cambodian children adolescents, evaluate vaccination timeliness. Methods Fully vaccinated aged 3–15 years were recruited the Rabies Prevention Center, Institut Pasteur Cambodia, Phnom Penh. Capillary blood samples information history collected. Anti-pertussis toxin (PT) IgG titers quantified by ELISA. Results Compliance with national was 95.1%. Initiation after 8 observed for 29.0% children, but less frequent youngest (13.0%) compared oldest ones (46.4%). Rate exhibiting anti-PT varied across groups, increased from 35.7% 55.0% 3–5 12–15 respectively. Conclusion circulates among adolescents. Serologic Evidence of Pertussis Infection in Vaccinated Iranian Children
Background: It seems that the incidence of pertussis-like illnesses is considerably increasing despite the wide coverage of immunization with the whole cell pertussis vaccine. We aimed to investigate the occurrence of pertussis in vaccinated children by measuring anti-pertussis antibodies. Methods: In this cross-sectional study, blood samples were taken from vaccinated children aged 2, ...
متن کاملAntibody response patterns to Bordetella pertussis antigens in vaccinated (primed) and unvaccinated (unprimed) young children with pertussis.
In a previous study, it was found that the antibody response to a nonvaccine pertussis antigen in children who were vaccine failures was reduced compared with the response in nonvaccinated children who had pertussis. In two acellular pertussis vaccine efficacy trials in Sweden, we studied the convalescent-phase enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) geometric mean values (GMVs) in response t...

Whooping cough (pertussis) is a highly contagious disease of the human respiratory tract, which is caused by Bordetella pertussis. Reemerge of pertussis in some highly immunized populations and divergency in gene order among several B. pertussis strains promoted this research to study the change of pertussis toxin (PT) and lipopolysacharide levels in response to the different environments. Th...
متن کاملSeroprevalence of Pertussis in the Netherlands: Evidence for Increased Circulation of Bordetella pertussis
BACKGROUND In many countries, the reported pertussis has increased despite high vaccination coverage. However, accurate determination of the burden of disease is hampered by reporting artifacts. The infection frequency is more reliably estimated on the basis of the prevalence of high IgG concentrations against pertussis toxin (IgG-Ptx). We determined whether the increase in reported pertussis i...
